Answer the following questions in no less than 300 words but no greater than 1000 words put together...
Character's background (their past and present): The only child born from his parents, Hokuto was always the center of their attention and as such, was brought up not missing of anything. His parents had stable enough jobs to provide him with basic education, and then on allow him into what entertainment in their city is all about. Promised a brilliant career, Student at LDS school of elite in the XYZ Summon class, he is a star among stars due to his 91% win ratio.
He faced an unexpected defeat at the hands of a tiny school's entertainment duelist while the three top students were having duels that would result in You Show Duel School becoming a part of LDS should their side emerge on top.
Afterwards, while investigating Masumi's professor attack and disappearance, the three laid out a trap for the perpetrator. They had lost the duel and all three ended up unconscious from the monster's unusual tangible attacks even though there was no Action Field where they were fighting. The CEO of Leo Duel School, Reiji Akaba, wiped the memories the three duelists had of that fight and altered them in order to make them believe their aggressor was in fact one of their companions, due to his own private undisclosed plans. As a result, he will recall nothing of this duel or the way they have lost it.
Currently, the fourteen year old is favored to win the Maiami Championship in the Junior Youth division.
Character's personality: Hokuto makes a point to brag about his victories out of the field as well as belittle and taunt them within the battle itself, a battle which he usually ends up winning. About 90% of the time. His belief is that if it is in order to achieve victory, he can duel however he wishes. Normally, this includes physically hurting his opponent thanks to the timing of his monsters' effects being used, and keeping them from taking any Action Cards unless he allows them to.
He takes great pride in his number of consecutive victories, and has instantly fallen in a deep dark depression when Masumi, the Fusion Class elite, reminded him of his earlier defeat. He may be more fragile than he appears if anyone knows exactly how and where to hit.
He has memorized the exact timing and location of Cosmo Sanctuary Action Field, which denotes a degree of commitment to victory. That or an obsession with stars. Or both, along with quite the amazing memory.
Character's skills/abilities/powers: Hokuto is a force to be reckoned with at Duel Monsters at large and even worse on the Action Field. He does have a degree of cunning since his strategies in and also out of said action field do allow him to grab victory in 53 out of 58 duels, 40 of those wins being consecutive.
Physically, he has a good stamina and may even be able to jump higher than at least his own height.
Any special equipment your character is bringing along? This includes weaponry, magic items, etc.: His Duel Disk and his deck is likely all he will have on arrival.
Are you bringing your character to
ten_fwd from another game? If you are, which game?: No~
Why do you want to play this character in Ten Forward, and what do you plan to do with them? I'd like to see what this character can evolve into, as his time in canon was cut cruelly short. Not much is even known about him other than what is in the wiki page, so most things I will pull such as interests and hobbies and favorite food are likely headcanons, given how little the series gave us to work with.
I want his story to continue on and evolve beyond the anime, and I thought a galaxy-speeding spacecraft could be just the best second life he could be offered. What he might end up doing to further the crew as a whole is something I haven't planned, so he can end up as anything from alien communications expert to electronics repair or janitor.
Writing Sample #1:
His future was supposed as bright and ever-shining as the sun, the most luminous star of them all. It may that just like Icarus, he had tried to get too close to it, and his wings had melted?
No.
This was impossible.
The next match was against the cookmates duelist, Michio. No doubt he would have won it, and have been delighted in serving him his just desserts, defeat with a sprinkle of regret on top for being his unfortunate opponent.
But his opponent had not being Michio. The stage had not even been an action field, in the stadium. No, right now it was still dark, in an alley, and even though stars shine even in the darkness, he had his light snuffed out by this black-clad, hooded figure.
Hokuto hadn't wanted anything about that duel. He was just heading home... but somehow she forced his Duel Disk to respond. Never had he seen a duel disk like hers, or monsters like hers. Monsters that, despite not being in an action Field, could make him feel damage right to his core. How wouldn't that be terrifying? This might be why he was backing up.. and maybe because he was backing up, she was advancing on him.
He's not used to be the one hunted.
He is used to be in control, so what is this? He lost the duel so why isn't she leaving him alone?
Why?
A jolt runs through his body as he feels his heel against the wall. that's it. No escape, and the buildings are too high for him to even see the stars. His opponent's features are obscured save for that line, lips pursed by determination.
She called him XYZ remnant, spouted things he had no clue about. And now what?
Now what is she going to do?
She had her Duel Disk pointed at him, and then? Then there is light, and a wave of terror washes over him.
He probably screamed. He must have. The whole galaxy had to hear it.
The whole galaxy probably did, because when that light receded and his eyes adjusted, he was in an entirely new place.
Apparently this is what heaven looks like: white walls and little lights running along them.
Almost like a spaceship.
